The beaches along Santa Cruz County’s 29 miles of coastline are ideal for swimming, camping or
soaking up the sun. From the craggy cliffs of Davenport, to the sandstone arch at Natural Bridges
State Beach and the wide expanse that is Sunset State Beach in south county, Santa Cruz County
offers plenty of options. The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary is the second largest federal-
ly-protected body of water in the U.S. and covers 5,322-square miles of ocean: nearly a quarter of the
California Coastline.
