Rhiannon Sims, California State Parks Interpreter, manages interpretive projects, such as special event
planning and wayside panel design, and media outreach for state parks in Santa Cruz County. “My aim
is to show visitors from all over the world – including locals - the unique and extraordinary nature of
our state parks and cultural history,” she said. “I like to combine the best of traditional interpretative
techniques with the latest innovative technology to offer fresh, relevant, and engaging interpretation. I
hope with this approach that all visitors, young or old, Californian
or international traveler, will discover a special connection to our
great state.” Her favorite part of the job? “Roasting marshmallows
and chatting with visitors at campfire programs under an old-
growth redwood forest canopy.”
