Tyrell Park: Meet Inventors of the Cigarette Surfboard

May 30 @ 5:30 pm8:00 pm PDT

One night only.

See the pop-up exhibit in the park next to the Museum of Natural History and meet the artists, designers and conservationists behind all 10 of the beautifully decorated surfboards on display in one place.

Cigarette filters do not decrease the dangers of smoking, but are made of microplastics, and are the single largest category of litter needing to be cleaned up from beaches. International Coastal Cleanup has collected over 52.9 million cigarette butts so far, but the ones they miss continue to release nicotine, heavy metals and even carcinogens into soil plants and water. Go see how something so gross can be turned into something beautiful.
