Seeking whimsy and wonder, the first Outstanding in the Field farm fête was here in the summer of 1999. The chef and the farmer were not so close back then, and they were intent on closing the gap.
The second event of 2025 will be a return to that first season and the fertile fields of Andy Griffin. Andy is a philosopher farmer with much to share. Seeds planted so long ago have ripened to harvest. Our long table continues to thrive as you join the full circle.
Chef Gus Trejo is a longtime supporter of Mariquita Farm. Gus’s respect for the agricultural community is rooted in childhood memories of family members working together in unison on the family farm.
