
The Santa Cruz County Film Commission assists with film permits, locations, and provides information on crew, equipment and support services for feature films, commercials, television, and still photography shoots.
Santa Cruz is 35 miles south of San Jose, 65 miles south of San Francisco, 30 miles north of Monterey and 375 miles north of Los Angeles.
In addition to its locations and proximity to the San Francisco Bay Area, Santa Cruz County offers a diversity of locations, including majestic redwood forests, winding mountain roads, charming rustic towns, an historic narrow-guage railroad, old Victorian neighborhoods, colorful seaside villages, a beachside amuesment park, lush agricultural fields, dramatic coastal bluffs, and 29 miles of coastline, all within just a few hundred square miles.
